Gary Goldberg, Lead guitarist and vocals.

Gary’s mom got him guitar lessons in the 9th grade. Taught by Mark Green (who played at the Philadelphia Folk Festival) at group lessons, Gary learned to fingerpick and flatpick in the Doc Watson Style. In High School Gary shunned anything electric, listening and playing folk and bluegrass. In his last year in high school, Gary sold his guitar to buy a banjo and started to learn Scruggs-style picking. Arriving college without a guitar, Gary met Mike Breen. They formed a duo “Breen and Goldberg” and quickly became popular playing coffee houses, bars and concerts as opening acts. The duo became a trio when Rich Dodson joined and the trio became “The Magnificent Truckstop Band” playing Bluegrass and folk favorites. After college Gary took a hiatus from playing for about 35 years and at age 58 took an “adult rock band” class and the hard work of being able to play again began. 5 years later, Ray Croce approached Gary to replace their exiting lead guitarist in OMGB. Gary said yes, and the rest is history.
