Bill "Lefty" Newsome – Guitar, Harmonica, and Vocals: A self-taught southpaw, Bill honed his skills playing gigs for free in the mid-sixties with older musicians around his native Kensington neighborhood in Philadelphia. His early influences include The Ventures, Chuck Berry, Muddy Waters, Brian Jones, and John Lennon. While still in his teens, he toured in a back-up band with R&B artists such as Lee Andrews, Chuck Jackson, Billy Harner, Little Eva, and Jimmy Jones. Realizing he needed to rejoin the real world, Bill had a successful 40-year career in industrial water treatment. Bill has been a part of the Philly area club scene for nearly 60 years. His past bands include The Soultastics, Leftovers, Shaky Ground, Diva Lost Wages, amongst others. His current favorite artists include NRBQ, Los Lobos, Vince Gill, and Marcia Ball.
